You have to have the right bolt,

Avid discs function most effectively with the proper bolts torqued to the correct setting. Further, the bolts come pre-treated with a lock-tite compound to help them hold the torque setting. I damaged the hex inset on some of my bolts when my torque wrench slipped and was no longer convinced that I could properly torque the bolts, hence ordering new bolts. Avid replacement rotors come with a complete set of six bolts, so you don't need these if you are ordering a replacement rotor.
