Shimano FC-M970 XTR Crankset with BB, 170mm, 22/32/44, M970 Reviews
It's XTR, trust me, it's all good., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Shimano XTR Mountain Bike Crankset FC-M970 170mm 44x32x22 Hollowtech II 9 Speed (Sports) Thou 2x10 and 3x10 are taking over the MTB scene there is nothing wrong with the older XTR. These cranks are stiff, light (thou not silly light) and easy to fit (external bearing BB is great). I have needed to tighten the lock screw twice and in the past have stripped out the non-drive side crank arm slines when the bolt worked it's way loose. Check your crank bolts every few weeks after you fit them. If they seem to be loosening then try a little lock-tight to freeze everything in place.Shifting performance is great, chain rings a bloody expensive (particularly that carbon/ti middle right) but they also last really well. The anodized surface is tough and resists scratches and shoe rub so it keeps on looking good. Very happy with these cranks, |
