Product Description
The Holy Roller is Maxxis’ most versatile BMX tire. By further tightening the spacing and modifying the knob pattern of the MaxxDaddy, we improved both handling and speed. Hooks up in medium density soil and trails via a deep-cut center groove for straight-line control. Excels in both front and rear.
- Inverted semi-knob design

Best aftermarket tires for dirt/concrete, This review is from: Maxxis Holy Roller BMX/Urban Bike Tire (Sports) bought these tires to replace the knobbies on my jamis komodo. Use them mostly for commuting to campus, hopping, jumping and launching off every curb and ledge in sight. traction is superb on concrete and hard pack dirt. Performs well in gravel and loamy soil too. NOT for the mud.Tread gaps look bigger in the picture. only pinched one tube with them. they have saved me from a couple collisions on the streets. Rolling resistance is much less then my kenda kinetics. especially if you run high psi. I have ridden them downhill at speeds excess of 45mph on roads, and they handle great, no lug wobble. Purchased these tires about 4 years ago. probably put around 400 miles. and they still have about 80% tread even with power stops. If your concerned about weight you might think twice. if you are concerned about buying a heavy duty tire that can take abuse and last a long time. then this is the one you need. Holy Smokes!, By Justin (Wyoming) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Maxxis Holy Roller BMX/Urban Bike Tire (Sports) I bought these to replace the aging Kenda Klaws on my MTB, in the slight hopes of gaining speed on the street(most of my riding is on streets or packed dirt trails). I think these might actually have more rolling resistance than the old knobbies, but where they really shine is cornering. The round profile makes the bike very responsive, and you can lay the bike on its side without the tires coming unstuck from the pavement. I'm in more danger of cratering my rims than losing traction. They're so soft and grippy that pebbles and sand stick to them. That might mean that they wear out quicker, but man, I'm going to have fun in the meantime. And, Niagara Cycle Works offers them for about half the price that my local high-end bike shop does. Great for casual biking, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Maxxis Holy Roller BMX/Urban Bike Tire (Sports) These tires perform well on pavement and small amounts of mud. Excellent on gravel. Very smooth ride with little rolling resistance on smooth surfaces. |
