Grip is tough but not too hard that it waffles your hands. They also aren't too soft that they turn to gummy and gunk up your hands either. Lockons work great and are easy to install on the bike. However, getting the lock rings onto the grips can be a little difficult and may require the use of a rubber-faced "persuader" and a 2x4, along with a little finesse..
